Penn State Faculty: How you can participate in the Student Newspaper Readership Program

Penn State faculty are invited to participate in the Student Newspaper Readership Program.  If you assign students in your class to read one of the newspapers you can receive a daily subscription at no cost.

Simply send us an email and provide your contact information, your office address, and a copy of your course syllabus requiring student newspaper readership (as an email attachment).  The New York Times and USA Today are available at most Penn State campuses.  Please note that the Centre Daily Times is available as a local paper at University Park.  Not all local papers at other campuses offer faculty subscriptions.

"The Newspaper Readership Program is an outstanding program to use in my First Year Seminar.  By requiring the students to read the newspapers, it connects them to their Penn State community as well as to the larger world community. The students are able to engage in meaningful discussions about current events in class."
